Nijnagel is a book that combats gender stereotype. I think this book is just not a cartoon, it actually means something. As we all know, Cinderella is a girl who has stepmother and two step sisters who treats her with no respect at all. Each night, Cinderella secretly trains herself to be a ninja. Cinderella is hoping to become a bodyguard for a prince.

I thought this book is brilliant and definitely honors diversity. Because people have stereotypes like after watching Disney princess movie, they will think that female characters needs protection by prince charming. But this book talks about how Cinderella can protect herself and the prince. It’s a graphic novel, so it would be easier for young readers to read. I think young readers definitely read this book.
